Our Process
Step 1
Book online
Choose your preferred session time and date, pay securely, then sign the agreement. All done in minutes and all sorted before photo day.
Step 2
Photo Session Day
Bring your child in their gi and current belt to the Dojo at your scheduled time. We'll capture beautiful portraits in around 10 minutes.
Step 3
Download and Enjoy
Receive your private online gallery within 72 hours and choose your included 2 x favourite images. Purchasing more images? Email me at contact@pixelmedley.com.
MEET THE PHOTOGRAPHER
Hi, my name is Arvin
I run Pixel Medley, an independent photography service specialising in portraits. I've been a photographer for over a decade, but portraiture will always be my favourite. I love capturing people's true essence — not just their appearance, but who they really are.
Here's the thing: I'm a karate parent too. For years, my son trained at a Karate Dojo, and I was that parent on the sidelines every week, watching him grow from a nervous white belt into a confident black belt. It feels like just yesterday. Time has this sneaky way of moving far too quickly.
That's why I do what I do. I capture moments and preserve memories. Because while we can't slow down time, we can hold onto what matters most.
Here's the nitty-gritty: As a parent myself, I understand the importance of trust. That's why:

FAQ
How long does a session take?
Around 10 minutes. I work efficiently while making sure we capture your child's personality. We're not rushing, but we're also mindful that kids have limited patience for photos!
What should my child wear?
Their karate gi and current belt! We'll capture them in full uniform looking their absolute best.
Can siblings be included?
Absolutely! If siblings also train at the Dojo, we can capture individual portraits and group shots. Just get in touch and we can discuss pricing for multiple-child sessions.
What if my child is camera shy?
I specialise in working with subjects of all comfort levels. The session is relaxed, playful, and happens in the familiar Dojo environment where they already feel confident. Plus, when they're in their gi, they usually stand a bit taller anyway!
When will I receive the photos?
You will receive a link to a private gallery within three days. You will select your two favourite images and download them.
What if I would like more photos?
No problem, additional photos are available for purchase at $10 each. Please contact me directly to discuss.
How does the Dojo fundraising work?
A portion of every session fee goes directly to Shindo Karate Derrimut Heath to support equipment, tournaments, and opportunities for all students. You're investing in your child AND their Dojo community.
