The YES Sessions

Your Everyday Self

A Portrait Philosophy

You don't need to change anything about your everyday self to be worthy of being photographed.

What This Session Is

You. Exactly as you are.

Nothing to change.

The YES Sessions are shot in black and white, not as a stylistic trend, but as an intentional choice. Colour is beautiful, but without it, something else comes forward: YOU. Your expression, your presence, your quiet power. That's what we're here to capture.

We'll spend a couple of hours in the studio. No agenda, no rush. Just space to breathe, move freely, and discover what you look like when you stop performing.

FAQ

I've never had professional photos taken. Is that okay?

More than okay! It's exactly who these sessions are designed for. I specialise in guiding people who feel uncomfortable or inexperienced in front of a camera. The pace is relaxed, the direction is gentle, and there's no "right" way to be photographed here.

Do I need to do my hair and makeup beforehand?

The YES Sessions are about Your Everyday Self, not a curated version of it. Come as you would step out on any ordinary day. That's where the authenticity lives, and that's what makes these portraits worth having.

What should I wear for my session?

There's no dress code, come in whatever feels like you. That said, because the images are in black and white, certain tones, textures, and layers photograph beautifully while others can distract. Once you've booked, I will send you a simple styling guide to help you choose with confidence. Think of it less as a rule and more as a quiet nudge in the right direction.

Why black and white?

Because when colour is removed, distraction falls away. Monochrome portraiture draws attention to the person — their expression, their presence, the quiet details that colour can overshadow. It's also timeless in a way that colour photographs rarely are.

What do I do with my portraits afterward?

Whatever feels right. Some people frame one large print and put it somewhere they'll see it every day. Some update their professional profiles with imagery that actually looks and feels like them. Some simply keep the files as a record of who they were at this moment in their life. There's no wrong answer.

What does the deposit cover?

The deposit secures your session date and studio spot. Spots are limited each month and the deposit ensures your place is held. The remainder of your session fee is due on the day, and additional images can be purchased at your post-shoot reveal.

Is this only for women?

Not at all. The YES Sessions are open to everyone, regardless of gender. The only requirement is a willingness to be seen as you actually are. Also important is having fun doing it!

You're ready. You always were.

Say yes to yourself.

Start with an email. We'll have a conversation, see if we're a good fit, and go from there. No pressure. Just a chat about what your portraits could be.
